Tails of Mystery and Imagination - part 2

chipTail.jpgYou may remember our little tails of chipmunk woe last week. Did we get letters? Did we! Most of them went kinda like this:

- Eeew! I hope you're past your rodent crisis. It just seems wrong!
- It's... ummm .... gross. The tail that is.
- That's not a real picture. You digitally modified it for your stupid web page. You suck!

But then we got this missive from our old friend Trout who had an interesting tail to share:

A ten pound cat can eat an entire chipmunk with just 3 chomp/gulps. I saw this with my very own eyes. And that is an entire chipmunk EXCLUDING the tail, which was left behind. Hmmm!!!!

The cat was a silver mackerel tabby "stumpy" Manx named Bert. The chipmunk was some unidentified Western species (he ate it too fast for me to "key it out"). The location was somewhere in north-central Idaho, elevation approx. 5500 ft.

I also saw Bert eat a Jumping Mouse. One gulp. This cat was all business, no play....A cat whose utter seriousness made Angelo (previously the holder of "Most Serious Cat" crown) seem like a doofy ditz!!

About the tail thing? what can I say? Chipmunks are just skinks with fur.

Do we enjoy your letters? Do we! Please send 'em fast and furious, especially if they have bits about chipmunk tails in 'em.

Thanks and good luck.
