Oh will you all stop whining!
big old flower

Still nothing to report on the Apple front yet, and I guess my dream is over. Sigh. But I will not go on and on about it...anymore that is. It's like how everyone is whining that summer isn't here yet. Wake up, folks, it's still spring!

Every year as Hogtown becomes Smogtown with the unbearable hazy heat and humidity, everyone complains. "We barely have spring anymore, the kids are still in school and the humidity is excruciating! Why oh why?" Just a thought, turn off your air conditioning and get a fuel efficient car. But that's a tired response from us here at the eco-friendly Pigdump Home Office.

You know, we haven't had a good long spring in a while. I've enjoyed how the 72 shades of green for weeks rather than days. The magnolias bloomed and hung around longer than a day and a half. Tulips, though late because of the cooler spring, brighten my comfortable walk to the subway...they didn't wilt early in 30 degree May temperatures.

There wasn't even that hideous smell of dog poo this year. Well, not as much anyway. It's like nature was allowed to do what it's supposed to do for the first time in a long time. And we've been able to enjoy spring - real spring - like we used to do as kids. Whatever that means. okay, the dog poo thing happened, but the humidity didn't come right on its tail end...if you know what I mean.

There's been rain. Lots of it. "Wah wah wah. It's supposed to be April showers, not May showers." Oh please! That little song was written south of the 49th, and let's face it, Tin Pan Alley gets hot earlier than Hogtown does. So let the lakes and rivers that were parched for rain last summer fill up and enjoy the drink of spring.

Goodness me! We're getting right poetic here! Time to stop and enjoy the last few days of lovely spring. The days of ridiculous heat and humidity are coming, so I'm happy May's putting it off for a while.

Thanks and good luck.
