People have been asking us, "Hey Pigdump, where did the Web Clowns go?" It's a delicate question, filled with double-entendres. We can assume they are asking us about the three popular characters on the Pigdump roster, but they could be asking us about the state of the wired world in the aftermath of the fall of the Way New Economy^TM.

We polled some friends in the business (and you know how THAT can hurt) or what's left of the business to find out what's up in the e-solutions industry. Here's an interview with one of the survivors:

Pigdump   So has anything changed? Have they given up that empty rhetoric?

Friend in the Biz   Yes, we had to pare down, a couple of sets of layoffs.

PD   That's a drag. Some big heads rolling?

FIB   No it's mostly been production layoffs.

PD   Wow! So who's left?

FIB   We've got the consultants, the CE's, the account...

PD   CE's?

FIB   Yes, and the account people...

PD   CE's?

FIB   Yes of course. We still have to bring in new business.

PD     --

FIB   We'll hire production on a freelance basis...

PD   What's a CE?

FIB   An Concept Engineer.

PD     --

FIB   I'm very very sorry.
