Reverse Classics

elephant coinFor weeks, nay, months, the crack Pigdump linguistics team has been working on a very special millennium project. The Greek and Roman scholars before us spent several lifetimes translating classic literature into English so that we may enjoy Homer, Plato, the Bible, Horace and of course Jacqueline Suzanne. So we thought it's time to give something back to those clever translators. And while we don't quite have the bandwidth to present The Complete Works of John Grisham in Greek (though transcripts can be ordered by sending an e-mail to newancientclassics@pigdump.com), we are happy to publish for the very first time:

Yankee Doodle Dandy in Latin

AD URBEM VENIT DOODLIUS
CUM CABALLO ET CALONI
ORNAVET PLUMAM PELEUM
ET DIXIT "MACARONI."

Tomorrow: Tuesday Wild.
