It's MY list, MY rules!

Okay, here's the deal.

vinyl and macintosh

Before I start talking about the eclectic 100 albums I have chosen as my Top 100 to date, I have to let you know where it came from. First, I stole the idea from Hume Baugh on Facebook. And I'm sure he stole it from someone else. Hell, it's a list for goodness sake, nothing very original really.

Then I had to set rules...there were none, really, when I began the quest. But then I started hearing from folks about, "Why did you choose that over that?", and, "How could you leave out this classic?" So I had to justify my choices before I told 'em all to make their own damn lists!

So here's some preamble:

• These are albums I've listened to the most in my life so far
• These may not be the artist's most important or classic album based on years of Billboard, Mojo and Rolling Stones lists, these are what were important to ME, not the music industry
• While I resisted putting in "Best of..." albums, in some cases, I couldn't help it. And actually, it was some early "Best of..." albums that I listened to more than anything. Stay tuned when their time comes...
• While some folks might have limited themselves to one record for one artist, I didn't. Oh sure, I could have filled the list with the entire Neil Young, Beatles and Elvis Costello libraries, but I didn't, so I used SOME discretion. Some.
• I came THIS close to choosing a few comedy albums... George Carlin's Class Clown, Monty Python's three-sided gem, Robin Williams' Reality, What a Concept... but decided to leave them off and concentrate on music only. Though I listened to those three albums a LOT!

That's it, really. I had fun with this. I hope you do too. And if not, make your own damn list!

Thanks and good luck.
