The damn bell is tolling again

Once upon a time, I wrote this on Pigdump.com:

george_bell_autograph.jpg

"I suppose I needed to talk about both inconvenient, painful events. And there is some ...ahem... sympatico between the stories...like pulling teeth? Sorry."

That was spring, two years ago. And now, like a bad case of deja vu all over again, my teeth are in dental hell and Bell-Sympatico is doing my head in!

Here's the thing. I moved to the big city for a few months to house sit for a friend who, well, is still a dial-up chick. No, not a call-girl, she actually has dial-up internet.

Anyway...

I called up Sympatico to upgrade her account to the highspeed...Hogtown is truly a hotspot on the information super highway.

Anyway...

It was all sorted, a modem would be mailed, Bell/Sympatico was happy to give me excellent service and all that. The marketing ploys worked and a dial-up dinosaur became a highspeed hellion.

Well...

The modem came and all was speedy with the world. Then the Bell All-In One-Bill came and did not show anything about the highspeed, just the dial-up. Odd. Then a week later, another bill came and it turns out they had set up a whole new account for me! They didn't upgrade, they created a new one. So I'm paying twice for one service...UGH.

So...

I called Sympatico...but it was after 5 and their customer service reps weren't around to offer me excellent service. I had to call the next day from work. I told the guy I wanted it all in one bill, that I hadn't wanted a whole new account and could he move the highspeed account over to the dial-up one (my friend is still using her Sympatico email address associated with the dial-up, don't you know.)

The guy said, "It will take 30 days to cancel the new account..." THE ONE I DIDN'T ASK FOR!, "...and then another 14 days to move that high speed over to the dial-up account."

...

...

(I'm counting to 10.)

An hour later, he realized the person who serviced me the first time was wrong and there was nothing he could do. And in fact, it's impossible that I was able to log into the highspeed using the old Sympatico account name and password...I DIDN'T KNOW I HAD ANOTHER ONE SO WHAT DO YOU THINK I'VE BEEN USING? AND IT'S NOT IMPOSSIBLE!

...

(I'm counting to 20.)

Anyway, I have 2 accounts under one name and one phone number. That's Bell/Sympatico excellent service for you.

And my 30-year old fillings gave out which resulted in a cracked tooth or two and a root canal and two new crowns and about a month's salary...

Sorry, but I hate Bell.

Please don't sue me.

Thanks and good luck.
